What is the One Core Repair Program?

The One Core Repair Program is a rehabilitation program for your core to recover from c-sections, hysterectomy, or other abdominal surgery or injury. This program was created to bridge the gap between surgery and exercise. The One Core Repair Program is broken up into four sections that focus on activating your core, integrating your core into daily activities, and then properly strengthening your abdominal wall so you can enjoy your life. The time spent in each section will vary depending on how active you are currently and how long it has been since your surgery. You will be given benchmarks to show you when it is time to progress to the next section.

The One Core Repair Program is a virtual course that you access through our member portal. You also have the ability to download it to two devices so you can continue the program no matter where you are for work or vacation.

How Is This Program Different Than Other Programs?

For anyone who has had c-sections, hysterectomies, or other abdominal surgeries or injuries, you know the frustration of constant back pain, core weakness, hip popping, digestive challenges, poor posture, and a whole host of other issues that occur after abdominal surgery or injury. Our program is the only program created to address the specific weakness and damage caused by abdominal surgeries and injuries. This is not something you will find in a yoga class, pilates class or home exercise video. If you have knee surgery, they will give you 8-12 weeks of physical therapy. If you have abdominal surgery, they just send you home. Our scientifically based program was created to bridge that gap to ultimately achieve the flat, strong core you have always wanted.

Who Is This Program Designed For?

One Core Repair is for anyone who has had abdominal surgery. The program was originally designed for women who have had c-sections or hysterectomies but it also works for anyone who has had any abdominal surgery or injury such as exploratory surgery or appendix removal. Once your doctor has cleared you for regular activity, you can begin our abdominal rehab program whether that is eight weeks or 20 years after your surgery.

What Results Can I Expect and When?

Most people start to feel better in the first 7-10 days. These are some of the benefits you may experience in the first 7-10 days:

  • your core feeling flatter and more engaged
  • back pain is reduced and the back feels less tight and more relaxed
  • improvements in posture, sitting up straighter
  • more confidence in conducting everyday tasks such as bending over to pick up a child or a bag of groceries

Most people complete the One Core Repair Program in 60-90 days.

Do I Need Special Equipment?

You will need one item which likely can be found around the house. You will need a rolled-up towel, pillow or yoga block.

What Happens To Your Pelvic Floor After Pregnancy 

While many women do not think about their pelvic muscles during pregnancy or before an abdominal surgery, these groups of muscles are critical for proper recovery. C-sections, hysterectomies and other abdominal surgeries can result in damage to your core and pelvic floor muscles. This complex system of nerves and muscles not only affects controlling bladder and bowel movements, but they are also responsible for helping keep your organs in place, as well as aiding in your fitness journey by providing strength and support to other key bone and muscle groups, such as the hips and spine. Without proper postnatal or post-surgical support, these muscle groups are left to "heal" on their own, creating more health complications and weakness as they are never able to truly recover without a program dedicated to actual rehabilitation.

Common Issues Women Face After Pregnancy & Delivery Or Post-Abdominal Surgery 

While a healthy baby or successful abdominal surgery tends to be a majority of the concern for both patients and healthcare providers, many women experience issues with their core and pelvic floor muscles due to a lack of proper rehabilitation. According to the Center of Disease Control & Prevention, “in 2019, 31.7% of all births were C-sections" and "approximately 600,000 hysterectomies are performed annually in the United States."  All of these surgeries are performed without offering the patients any rehabilitation like you would receive after a a basic knee surgery resulting in a variety of health issues that include:
